Re: Janie passed away in Sept 2017

I'm sorry for your loss.
What a beautiful message from her sister... that one can be grateful for the time that one has, although suffering and loss are so present.
Sending a lot of strength to her loved ones...

Re: 6 years NED after stage IV

I'm having days with awful nightmares and I struggle with anxiety - with peaks and then with moments, where I forget that I had cancer... your head really plays tricks on you, even when one is feeling good and trying to move on from cancer. Thank you so much for sharing this. It gives me hope that I...

Re: Watch & Wait Approach?

Gtafoya please inform yourself really good before you think about refusing surgery. Watch and wait approaches are for people who had local tumors - without linfatic/vascular involvement I.e. without linf nodes affected I.e. without metastases. It is an option to consider when cancer is in an initial...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I dreamt about this day so many times, when I could post a victory on this thread. Yesterday was my surgery's and stoma's birthday. My life is going so well. I'm working and having a ball with my baby girl. And I'm doing bloodwork every two months, CTs every six months and a colonoscopy per year. To...

Pain control after abdominal and rectal surgery

I've read recently the post from Axq99 after reversal surgery and wanted to chime in. Everyone is different in his or her physiology, and that means of course that everyone experiences pain differently. Surgeons use similar techniques, but there aren't two surgeries which are exactly the same. So ho...

Re: those of you with a colostomy

Dear betula, I am a 30 year old who had rectal cancer last year and chose to have a permanent colostomy. There are good days and bad days for everything in life. But I must say since I started irrigating I feel very good about my self and about my body image. I have a job where I have lots a meeting...

Dear Caat55, Your body, your choice. There are lot of information about radical and wait and see approaches on this forum, if you search for it you will find a wealth of experiences. There are good and bad to both sides. That said, it really comes to the extent in which you are willing to take chanc...

Re: Tribute to my dear friend Anne - aka BeansMama

Im so really sorry :( I was acompannying her journey and was so happy for her results with Keytruda and for Larry's eviction surgery. I really though she was out of the woods. Re: Back in the fight

Dear macpudd, I don't know what to say. You had your treatment 4 years ago and I really hope that you aren't dealing with the C word anymore. Anything that goes on on the brain is a challenge, from a surgical point of view. I hope that they figure out fast what is going on and that they have a treat...

Stoma Life - Awsome Life :)

Dear Colon Clubbers, After acompanying silently the frustrations and pains of many of you, who are suffering from LARS and poor quality of life - I decided to give you my input about the thing so many dread: a life with a permanent ostomy! From the beginning I must say I had a huge advantage: beeing...

I'm so happy for you Sophy... you are an example of resilience for all of us.

I hope you are blessed with a cure and that your courage for seeking out other options outside your comfort zone pays you back with many happy years of a cancer free life.

Here's to NEDville forever!

All the best!

Dear Benben, I am so happy reading about your conquests and life after chemo, you brought tears to my eyes. We have the same "last chemo"- day :D 27/10 I swallowed my 8 last Capecitabine pills. I cannot say I've bounced back yet, because of neuropathy (which started getting worse in my fee...

Pelvic Fluid

I had my first CT after surgery and chemo done yesterday.
Everything seemed normal, no signs of local recurrence, no signs of metastatic disease. Except they saw some fluid in the small pelvis.

Can anyone relate?
Can this be normal I.e. be leftover from surgery?

Many thanks in advance!

Love,
Ana
