Re: Xeloda "withdrawal" symptoms?

I finished Xeloda monotherapy is June... yes, dry skin and I still get episodes over 6 months out. Try using Eucerin for sensitive skin.

Re: MD Anderson

If you live in the northeast, there is an MD Anderson in NJ. I go to Dr. Morrison. If you need more info, let me know.

Re: Possibly unnecessary open liver surgery

Surgery is looming. We leave for Boston next Tuesday. I will drop off my husband very early Wednesday. I have requested a private room but the hospital does not guarantee he will have one. The cost is $483 per night out of pocket. That's quite a bit out of our budget but I am far more concerned abo...

Re: Took my last dose of Xeloda last night

I remember the last night I took my Xeloda...it was a mixed feeling just like you stated. I am 8 months out and still worry and get nervous every time I have blood work or a scan. Hoping to hear the word "cured" at the 5 year mark.

Re: What a difference a year makes! UPDATE

So happy for you! I am hoping for any good news this new year! I don't think I can take another horrible year like the last. Chemo #4 done and it is not easy. I found your post uplifting and so hopeful that we all can find NED one day. Enjoy every day, Becky! You are blessed! Lydia Lydia, I think o...

Re: 56 went for a colonoscopy they found 5 cm tumor

Hello, I noticed blood on a stool about 5 months ago, but was not sure. Then I noticed it more often the last several weeks and saw a doctor. I had the colonoscopy thinking I had hemorrhoids. Turns out they found a 5 cm tumor. They told me it looked like cancer, I have not gotten the biopsy results...

Re: Stage IIA: Chemo or not?

This is the strategy I/we took- basically if I would have started having major issues with the chemo, I would have just stopped it cold. Originally we were thinking 8 cycles, but after the IDEA trial data came out this summer (about a week before I started), both oncologists, one at a major cancer ...

Re: Stage IIA: Chemo or not?

I'm curious as to why your oncologist did not give you the option of 3 months of chemotherapy. It's my understanding this has become the new protocol for Stage III colon cancer so I don't know why this wouldn't be true for Stage II. I have heard that 3 months seems to be as effective as 6 months. M...

Re: Stage IIA: Chemo or not?

Hi, First time poster but have made regular visits here via search engines since diagnosis. This won't be the first time this question has arisen, but I am currently 6 weeks post-surgery and faced with the decision of whether or not to proceed with Capecitabine (Xeloda) adjuvant chemotherapy for 6 ...
