Re: Bone density question and mental health issue ramblings

My doctor, gynecologist, sent me for a dexa scan 3 weeks after finishing chemo. I asked if it was to soon and he said no. I did the scan and it showed that I have osteopenia. I had one 2 years later and it improved....logically we know that chemo affects the bones, so I feel that he should have wait...

Re: Chemotherapy for Stage 2A

Stage 2 is a grey area. I was offered Capeox, Folfox or no chemo. Because I did not want a port, I opted for Capeox. Again, I had two high risk factors. If I was low risk, my onc would not have put me on chemo. I guess I am having a hard time understanding why the Oncologist is recommending a chemo ...

Re: Chemotherapy for Stage 2A

Welcome to the group! I was diagnosed with stage 2A right sided colon cancer in 2016. During my first screening, they found the mass. I had no symptoms and my bloodwork was excellent and my CEA was 1.9. With that said, I had 2 high risk factors, which both are subjective....LVI and G3 tumor. Most ri...

Re: From what point are you 'NED'?

My doctor counted it as the day of surgery because all cancer was removed. I am now in my 5th year and God willing, I will be released in December.

Re: Covid-19 vaccine advice

The only thing that I heard about lymph node swelling due to the vaccine is the underarm LN and breast. Women are being advised not to have a mammography until 6 weeks after receiving the Covid vaccine. Apparently, mammography results might show LN involvement and create a false positive for possibl...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

I received my first dose of the Moderna vaccine on January 27th and the second dose on February 26th. First dose produced only a sore arm and slight headache. However, the second dose was a different story. Sore arm but 12 hours after the shot, I had a fever with chills and achy. This lasted for 24 ...

Re: Right verses left colon cancer symptoms

My story of right sided cancer started with a routine colonoscopy at the age of 57. I had no symptoms and my bloodwork was perfect. In early stages right sided cancer will present with no symptoms and no visible blood. My surgeon told me that if I had waited until there was symptoms, such as anemia,...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

Beckster, Hopefully this will help calm your fears a bit. I, too, had an allergic reaction to oxi after the first does....and nothing from my first COVID shot other than a slight headache and lightheadedness. I am also allergic to some darn many drugs.....some give me a horrible rash but most give ...
