Re: CEA Levels

My Scans are March 6th MRI and 8th Pet Scan. I usually get the result same day if everything is clear, the oncologist releases it to mychart and I can read it. I am hoping its just inflammation from my ileo reversal, but I see others have had reversal without elevated CEA. It's very stressful. I alw...

Re: CEA Levels

Thanks and hope your Mom's scans come back clean. I am just waiting for my scans in March. Trying to stay positive. I hope it's nothing, but if something benign, or inflammation. Either way I just have to keep on trucking, I was hoping to be done with all of this, but only time will tell. Thanks for...

Re: CEA Levels

It is so hard to stay positive through all of this. So many things run through my mind.

Re: CEA Levels

Thanks for the post Stu. I am hoping its nothing and just false positive or something else. I read this article and it seems its a big thing with colorectal cancer patients. I spoke to my onc on the phone and we were talking how everything was perfectly clear with PET and MRI in December. But he sai...

Re: CEA Levels

Just got CEA results and it came back at 11.4 and of course I am stressed. I really hate this, gives me so much anxiety.

Scans were already prescheded for March 6 and 8 pet and mri. Waiting for a call from oncologist see if he wants to move them up. It could be a false positive but I don’t know.

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Wouldn't a blockage mean pain, not going for 3 days doesn't necessarily mean there is blockage? I mean there have been times where I don't go for the entire day, but that is because if I see any diarrhea I take two Imodiums right away. Overall things are getting better. Can't stand the unpredictabil...

Re: CEA Levels

So I met with my Doctor today and we discussed the CEA and he wasn't very concerned about it, but he said we will keep an eye on it. Then I told him would my surgery have affected it for Ileostomy reversal in October. He said, OH, I forgot about that and proceeded to say, that most likely is the rea...

Re: CEA Levels

Wow Mike, I bet the 3.2 and 4.5 made gave you a bit of anxiety. It is so nerve racking doing these surveillance things. The PET/CT and MRI process and waiting for the results is so stressful. I might be going through the same fluctuations. I have been more active lately but not actually working out,...

CEA Levels

Hello All, Things have been improving after ileostomy reversal, going much less, still hate the unpredictability when I have to go, but it's been better. Just had my NM PET/CT SKULL-THIGH and MRI done. All came back clear and good. So still NED. My CEA was 1.2 when I did the test in September, This ...

Re: Update from Rikimaroo

Things have been a little better still sporadic but more manageable. Doctor asked me to start taking a fiber product. My wife already had Nopalina Flax Seed plus Fiber. Has anyone tried that, I wanted to try before buying Metamucil. Ingredients include psyllium husk and senna leaves and a few more t...

Re: Update from Rikimaroo

Thanks Appletree very informative. My doctor prescribed Questran. Anyone ever tried it? I am going to give it a shot, although today I have not had a bowel movement yet, woke up at 9:50AM and its 10:47AM makes me a bit nervous of constipation, but who knows maybe my body is adjusting, will let you k...

Re: Update from Rikimaroo

Today has been crazy. I think I went to the bathroom at least 15 times or more. The poop is coming out but its like droplets of semi formed mushy stuff. My anus is sore and the butt burn is there. I use the calmoseptine then right after I walk back to my desk or sofa, 3-5 minutes and back to the bat...
