Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Glad to see your moving on Mike. Very happy for you my friend. I have done 9 rounds of Chemo so far and I told my Onc I need a break, extra week off, but I don't want to do anymore. It's so tough and I am having a hard time handling it. Especially the nueropathy in my hands and feet. My last treatme...

Re: Liver lung mets rectal cancer UK

I just wanted to say I am sorry to hear this. But I do have some questions. Did he change his diet in anyway? Did he exercise and keep active? I quit red meat on first diagnosis back in 12/2016. I also try to keep active but not so much since I am going through chemo right now so its tough. It's har...

Re: My recent surgery & update on MSK HAI pump (long)

Awesome news. The surgery is always tough because my liver resection was a cross cut on my abdomen and it hurt for a few days. It got better around the sixth day when I got discharged, and I drained for like six weeks afterwards from the cut. Glad you got your surgery done. Stay strong you got this!...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I did the Xray Enema 3 weeks after my liver and LAR resections. It was not bad, but never fun. The real annoyance was after all was done I was on the toilet for like 15 minutes spraying out all the liquid. When I got home same thing, the car ride I could hold, it was 1 hour drive home. I was on the ...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Did they say that the port is no longer needed? I thought usually you keep it for 2 years after doing everything just in case. But I do hope nothing and your done with all this crap. The neuropathy for me kicked in hard 2-3 months after doing the first 6 rounds of chemo. I am so happy you made it th...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

Bag change has been quite quick for me. About 5-7 minutes right out of the shower. I usually shower with the bag on then change it afterwards. 9th round of Folfox this Wednesday. Neuropathy has been a bit rough, numbess in hands and feet is worse at night, more feet then hands. Typing on keyboard yo...

Re: A cautionary tale

I am very frustrated at seeing the holistic doctors conning people into thinking that they can cure your cancer. It leads so many astray and it makes decision making so difficult when it comes to us folks who are battling cancer. They have no proven history of success, like the medical profession. I...

Does anyone have a little drinky drink during chemo?

I am not a normal drinker. An occasional drinker, yes. I was jonesing for some margarita mix that I have on my bar. I just had some in a shot glass but drank it slow. With liver surgery I get scared drinking any alcohol. What are your thoughts on the occasional drink to peel the edge off a little.

Re: Colon cancer screening at 45 - New guidelines

My story is different even know my GI said its probably hemorrhoids at 38, he still said lets do a colonoscopy. Guess it varies with Doctor's office. I think the age should be 30. A lot of people don't believe in colonoscopies though. Especially people from other countries, like South America, etc...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I can't imagine going through chemo 12 rounds straight man. It's rough doing it already as it is for me, doing another six rounds for a total of 12. Hang in there, your almost done. I can't wait to be here. The chemo is so hard to do, sometimes I want to give up. My numbess in hands and feet is so a...
