Colostomy bleeding HELP

Hey friends, as everybody knows my mum is going through adjuvant chemo, this is her last round of capox and she's experiencing some bleeding. Tomorrow she will see her oncologist to see what is going on there. I have read constipation may cause this and it can be due to Xelox? Anyone to help me here...

First Capox round

Hey all, just an update: my mum finished her first round of Capox without ANY side effects. I don't know if it is good or not, but her CEA has increased slightly and the onc said it's nothing to worry about (2.68 compared to 1.7 before). I read that it's a good sign as it might mean cancer cells are...

Re: lower survival rate for stage 2 than stage 3?

If memory serves me correctly, the studies that showed those figures specifically stated that it was stage IIB/C (stage IIA was not included) and yes, it was because too often, those in stage IIB+ didn't get adjuvant chemo. In studies that didn't differentiate between the stage II's, it's really im...

Re: Capox (Xelox) as Adjuvant for RC stage 3b

Thanks Tracy, I talked about this with her oncologist already and she mentioned that as there's lymphovascular and perineural invasion in the pathology report, the risk of recurrence is higher, thus the oxi is necessary. It's her first infusion and so far so good. Did you have LVI too? My mum toler...

Re: Capox (Xelox) as Adjuvant for RC stage 3b

Hello supporters! My mum will start post surgery chemo for RC Stage 3 b . It'll be Capox (Xelox), any tips? I read neuropathy sucks and the doctor said sometimes it's irreversible, do you agree? Her onc tends to be really pessimistic (the same happened with neoadj but no major side effects thanks G...

Re: Wanted to share my husband's neuropathy med -it works!

Tammy, I shared the recipe you shared in other forum --ColonTown, in Facebook--, pointing people here with the link, of course, so they can read for themselves and hopefully report, if they try this. A question I got --for you and others here-- is if this cream helps with the feeling of numbness, n...

Re: Wanted to share my husband's neuropathy med -it works!

Hi there...I am not a doctor so I can't say if this has preventative abilities, but there is always the possibility that your mom won't need it!! Not everyone ends up with this issue, and for many people it happens later, not from minute one. Keep this thread in mind, but for now, my thoughts are t...
