Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

Dear WW-ers, In my first Xelox cycle, I experienced a 2 day constipation in the first week of my first cycle. I took Duphlac syrup and was prescribed Domeperidone and it was resolved immediately. I had same problem, it was most likely caused by all those extra meds that you getting, like anti nause...

Onco comes once surgeon decide to proceed with chemo, and if radiation is involved, then they make comb...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

Original W&W approach included only chemo/rad, it has evolved since than, now is call TNT (total neoadjuvant chemotherapy), includes chemo than chemo/rad, or chemo/rad than chemo, not sure which order is better. There was big study at Memorial Sloan, I think it finished back in Nov/2018 Here is ...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

He had to really look around to find the tattoos. He remarked how everything looked good. That is great news lakeswim lady. When they did sigmoidoscopy on me after chemo/rad, was hard to find the spot, if it wasn't for tattoo they wouldn't be able to find it. Looked like brand new. W&W approach...

Re: Achiness after radiation

Hi. I am posting this question here to this group (the watch & wait group) as they may have noticed this more due to the fact they have not had surgery. I am 10-12 weeks out of radiation and I felt GREAT (more energy than I had in years and my body felt good) until 2 weeks ago. Now I have aches...

Re: Rectal Cancer: Habr-Gama Watch and Wait Strategy to Avoid Surgery

That's great lakeswim lady, the approach you had seem to be the choice with better results, first chemo than chemo/rad.
12 weeks is good period to give therapy to work, radiation works for years, when combined with chemo, it's like turbo, so I was told.

Good luck to you, and keep us updated!!!
