Re: NEW THREAD FOR LOVED ONES LEFT BEHIND ONGOING

I stopped by the forum to see how things were going. My husband passed away on jan 23 2017. Regan - if you don't want to pay for help then please reach out to your local hospital or the one that treated your husband to see if they have any bereavement groups. I just started attending one and it has ...

Free comfychemo longsleeve shirt mens medium

I purchased a comfy chemo long sleeve black shirt for my husband in December. He only got a chance to wear it twice before passing away in Jan. I would love to pass this on to another fighter on this forum. Please send me your name and address via PM by Feb 18th and I will send it over (shipping is ...

My husband Andy has joined the Lord Jan 23rd

With a heavy heart, I just want to share that my husband, Andy Quang Truc Pham, joined the Lord on Monday January 23rd at 2.20am. He fought a long painful battle with colon cancer and is now in peace. We appreciate everyone's support, thoughts and prayers during his fight. Before he took his last br...

Reduced ascites?

My husband has a tenkoff catheter that was put in Dec. When we first started draining every other day, we would take out on average 500ML. Then in January, it started going down to 300ML every other day. This week we went about four days without draining and when we did the other night, it was 275ML...

Re: IV Hydration at home

Just a quick update. The hydration pharmacist call med earlier and hopefully we should be having someone come over around 7pm tonight. I also requested the EMLA cream and they said that requires a prescription so we're waiting for the Dr's office to add this to the order as well. Just wanted to say ...

Re: IV Hydration at home

My husband seemed very sad to hear it was being done via port because he said it is very painful. We requested through IV if possible but they said it isn't possible at home, it can only be done via port. That's where we are at so far. Has he tried the numbing cream on the skin over the port? Haven...

Re: IV Hydration at home

Thanks everyone for sharing! So good to hear people recover from peri mets. Just a quick update, my husband's nurse case manager called today and said they are processing the order for the nurse to come over. I think everything should be in place around Thursday (materials and nurse). The order was ...

Re: A DK37 CURATED MSS-CRC CLINICAL TRIAL FINDER!

Yes, MSS means "Microsatellite stable". MSI means "Microsatellite INstable". ALL CRC patients are eligible for immuntherapy .For those MSI (specially, MSI-High), there are encouraging results from just certain immunotherapies as single agents (just one drug) at the present; ofte...

Re: A DK37 CURATED MSS-CRC CLINICAL TRIAL FINDER!

Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie but what was MSS stand for? Microsatellite stable? My husband's foundation one report under 'Additional Findings' has the line:
Microsatellite status - MS-Stable.

Does that mean he might be eligible for immunotherapy? Thanks!

Re: IV Hydration at home

I have not an advice, but want to wish your husband the best. I.V. hydratation is something so helpful, immediately helpful! It's a bout of fresh energy. I.V nutrition is other level, indeed, but even that can be reversible if a treatment starts to work --I have a friend with peri mets from other c...

Re: IV Hydration at home

Thank Karen, Maia for the notes! Karen - I will keep an eye out on the swelling. I hope they might also train us on any side effects to look out for too. I'm wondering if they might have us keep track of how much fluid he might release when going to the bathroom. Question, what is pitting edema? I d...

IV Hydration at home

Hi all - I spoke with my husband's nurse this morning and since he has been having a hard time keep his calorie intake up (has gas/reflux pain when consuming food), they are planning to set up IV hydration at home. They hope this will help. The total nutrition IV will be another level. If there's an...
