Re: Lung nodules and genetic testing

... I'm a bit paranoid though, I am schedule to get CT scan in 12 months. What if they grow in that time? What if they are cancerous? Would it show on my CEA/blood tests? ... So, if I understand correctly, your first post-treatment CT scan had a few tiny lung nodules, and now your doctor's plan is ...

.... I'm trying to keep active, exercising and eating well, but i'm scared and tired. You're doing just fine, in my opinion. My only recommmendation would be to re-read, and re-re-read roadrunner's excellent post below https://coloncancersupport.colonclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=66980#p517591

Re: Spreadsheet for monitoring quarterly lab data

Pagola44- I have another suggestion for you. This suggestion is to set up a small spreadsheet to track your significant lab results over the next five years. Since there will be blood draws scheduled every quarter for each of the upcoming five years, this means that your spreadsheet would need to h...

CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen)

It's probably not a mistake but it could be something unrelated. Cancer can metastasize anywhere in your body but there are also a number of benign conditions that can cause elevated CEA. For example, inflammation anywhere in your body can cause CEA to jump quite dramatically. CEA (Carcinoembryonic...

Re: CEA questions

You haven’t provided enough information here. Jmy1975 Welcome to ColonTalk. I'm sorry to hear about your father's situation and the rise in CEA. There are some members here who might be able to provide some feedback, but as roadrunner has already said, more information is needed for us to understan...

Re: New Member - Looking for Some Reassurance

awolf007 - I tend to agree with the comments of roadrunner and Darkness_Embraced. It seems to me that a major surgery like left hemicolectomy will leave some residual problems, especially if your surgery had an open-surgery component. You said that your surgery was "partially robotic", bu...

Re: Interesting (and optimistic) danish study on recurrence for stage I-III colorectal cancer

Thanks for posting information on this study, and for the graphs. Very interesting! This suggests to me that there may be some changes in Standard of Care that have triggered new survival statistics.

Does anyone have information on changes in CRC standards of care over the past 10 to 20 years?
