Done with Chemo, Now on to Radiation

Yesterday my husband had his last chemo treatment (he had 12 rounds). He was really fortunate in that he never got sick from the chemo. In fact he has thrived and he looks far better and healthier now than he did before all this. The most side effect ever was that he would get tired sometimes, but e...

Re: Advice Needed: Avastin

My husband just had his 3rd round of chemo (FOLFOX). They added Avastin after round 1 for his lung mets. It caused his BP to go up to the point that they are now giving him Norvasc to keep it down. No other side effects (so far). He has 9 more rounds of chemo to go (chemo is every other week so this...

Experiences with Avastin?

My husband's lung biopsy was positive, so they are adding Avastin to his FOLFOX at his next treatment (treatment #2 of 12). He handled his first chemo treatment (which was on the 7th) fantastically well -- no fatigue or nausea at all. I'm hoping he will continue to do well, but I'm curious about wha...

Re: Help for my husband diagnosed 9/16/16 Stage III?

My husband had his first FOLFOX treatment Monday. He had the 5FU pump for two days and got that taken off yesterday. He says he's feeling fine and has plenty of energy today. He never experienced any nausea or fever. He even spent most of the time at the infusion center chowing down on junk food!! N...

Re: Help for my husband diagnosed 9/16/16 Stage III?

I want to thank everyone here for their support, prayers and replies. We are all in this together, and every day we meet more people in our "club." My husband and I have a "game plan" now and while we're both still really apprehensive, there is some comfort in having a schedule. ...

Help for my husband diagnosed 9/16/16 Stage III?

My husband was diagnosed on 9/16/16. He had been losing alot of weight since January and I had been urging him to see a Dr about it but he kept saying he felt fine, he was too busy, etc. We had alot of fights about it because he hates to go to the Dr. He won't even take aspirin or Tylenol! And he ha...
