Re: MD Anderson possibly flooding

Texas is a gigantic mess. We live in Ingleside, near Port Aransas, Rockport, etc, where the hurricane made landfall. No water, electricity, sewer...somehow we got cell phone service yesterday. Our entire town is destroyed. Houston is apparently a giant, deadly, swimming pool. It's terrifying and awf...

Re: CEA Level

I don't think you should be worried. Did you have it drawn at a different lab? Mine varies, depending on which lab draws it. Mine goes from .5 to 1.5, and I asked my onc if I should be concerned. He said: " are you kidding me? No!" I think if it continuously climbs, time to step up to a sc...

Re: Hoping fo Colon Cancer?

Um.. I guess good luck on getting colon cancer? Lol --- seriously though, I wish you the best. Any port ( powerport, that is) in a storm, I guess? Haha glad we all are able to joke about this stuff. Glad you are on your feet and ready for whatever comes next. Hope it turns out to be as you wi...

Re: New member.

Well I got the great news following my PET Scan. NED BABY!!!! That being said I am still going to complete the 12 rounds of chemo and then continue whatever the Dr suggests. I will most likely be a chemo for lifer.. The other great part is that all the small spots on my liver are GONE! Dr giving al...

Re: Husband broke down last night

Sorry the surgery wasn't successful. That's disheartening to say the least.

You are a great champion for your husband, he is very lucky in that regard.

Take care and hopefully the next surgery will be successful.

Re: More chemo?

Sorry for the (probably) continued chemo. If MDA told me to do it though, I'd probably do it.

How do they calculate your risk for long term neuropathy?

Re: High CEA reason for ct scans being moved up

Darkness, try not to worry. CEA can rise for so many reasons. Get your scan results before you let yourself get upset...I know it's hard. My 14 year old son had an unusually high CEA once, and they gave him a CT. He had enlarged lymph nodes in his stomach region due to a virus that showed zero sympt...

Re: Yearly ct scan moved up

You are in my thoughts. Stay positive and remember it's just part of the process. You are getting good medical care to help fight this disease and even though it's scary and concerning, it is in your best interest to do these things. Maybe the moved date was purely scheduling conflicts or facility i...

Re: New, anxious and seeking opinions

I know it's hard, I also have had health anxiety. Just try to not panic until it is time to panic. I had an unsedated colonoscopy a few years ago. It wasn't that bad. It was mildly uncomfortable at the most, and for my upcoming colonoscopy in September, I will ask for no sedation as well. It's actua...

Rest, Brown Bagger, and may his friends and family be comforted. Agree with quoted post 100%. Those who are newly diagnosed need to hear from those lik...

Re: Husband broke down last night

I don't think there are absolutes for anything, anyone Oxi sucks no doubt [ but ] bitch, complain, get drunk and yell at God. And then go get that oxi infusion. x2 Yeah, me too discovered that the chemo effects got worse when the Oxi was added, but it killed off all my liver mets. On hindsight, the...

BeansMama: You are showing strength, class, and grace by fighting this wretched disease and putting your Bean first. Bean truly won the Mama lottery with you. Best wishes to you and Bean.
