Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

NIKMAKMOM, I have been on KEYTRUDA since 12/16. For the past three months I've had a bad throat infection/chapped lips that has postponed a couple of treatments, but it's better than waking up in the hospital :D

Re: Any Chemo Lifers? Incurable Stage 4

Hi. Read my sig. I believe we owe it to life to keep on fighting the good fight. Plus, I can't stand the thought of leaving my boy, even though he's gonna be 21, and looks like he's gonna be a good, strong man. Besides, it's easier to die than it is to live, and it's in the hard that makes it worth t...

Re: Genetic Testing

No one in my family has cancer, yet I tested positive for Lynch, which made it possible to start KEYTRUDA, and it has helped. Tumor down over 50% since December, CEA from 800 to 30's, you can read my signature for the rest. Good luck.

Re: Bad Reaction to Radiation

Sorry for your troubles, butt always listen to the patient. Morphine works for me. It takes away that feeling of always having to go to the bathroom.

Re: Terrified

If you haven't already done so, tell them a close relative has cancer. This might facilitate at least a colonoscopy. Good luck, and I hope it is just hypochondria. :)

Re: CT Scan said, "colon consistent with cancer"

Hi Ken, this is what I got within 6 months of dx: two extraordinarily painful blockages, and I would not have survived without surgery. Since then, bile ducts restricted, causing jaundice. An abscess at the entrance of my hole, that when the doctor lanced it, it was the closest to torture that I hav...

Re: Stage IV Rectal Cancer being treated with Keytruda

Update: had my CT this morning; doctor just called with results: all tumors show significant regression, and he is going to reconvene the surgical board to reevaluate me for surgery. They are generally ecstatic either way. So am I. And my wife! I’ll admit, I cried after hearing this. Thanks so much...

Re: Immunotherapy

By the way, a message to Big Rob (and others with tricky inoperable liver mets), I had SBRT (cyber knife) radiotherapy on one of my liver mets 4 weeks ago. The first follow up scans show 50% shrinkage in that site but, quite interesting, a distantly located met in my peritoneum under my left ribs h...

Re: MEDI4736 CLINICAL TRIAL (KEYTRUDA)

Update: Haven't received KEYTRUDA in over six weeks due to this throat infection, but onc says this is the KEYTRUDA working. CEA still down at 32.6, but bodyweight also down to 153 lbs. The good news is that the tumor has shrunk to 7.1×7.0, from 9.6×7.9, and my onc is scambling to aggressively use o...
