Re: Pelvic Fluid

I also had a pocket of fluid on my scan 3 months ago. I am due for another scan on Wednesday. Thank you for asking about this as I am having the pre scan anxiety. I feel better too.

Re: Ovarian Cyst Question

Follow up with your on/gym. I had my colon cancer go to my ovary 6 months tha after I finished chemo and it grew quickly. My CEA had elevated, and it showed on a Pet scan. A biopsy confirmed that it was colon cancer. Since I had both ovaries removed, things are going well. Just be sure it's a cyst.....

Re: New DX, Realistic Expectations

I am a sixth grade teacher and managed to teach through my Folfox treatments. Because of the pump, I took off my day of infusion and the two days following. I never missed a day of teaching other than those days. Toward the end, it got harder but my staff and students were so supportive. I think goi...

Re: elevated cea

If you do have a history of colon cancer and this is anew elevation, I would request a pet scan. My cea elevated and my doctor ordered every test possible. Colon Cancer was eventually found on my ovary and lit up on the pet. It was then confirmed through a biopsy. This way, if it is anything, it can...

Re: CEA need to call

Thank you for your support and suggestions. I did try the anti depressant, Zoloft back in September. I'm not sure if it was too strong of a dose but it made me sick like I was hung over and it also made me weepy. I decided to go off and have just tried to deal with the anxiety through exercise and k...

Re: HAD 8 FOLFOX TREATMENTS, SHOULD I CONTINUE

Julie, Chemo is hard. Ugh I almost start gagging thinking about it. I only went 11. My neutrophil counts were low and the nueropothy was getting bad. I'm over a year from my last one and almost all side effects are gone. I have a little numbness in my toes and I noticed my right eye is a bit dry som...

CEA need to call

I am so scared of another recurrence. I am only 4 months out since I had my ovaries removed and my next check in Mayo won't be until April. My last check in January (5 weeks ago) was good. My scan results were good and my CEA was 1.1. My local oncologist said he would do a six week check on the CEA ...

Re: FOLFOX - what a waste of f***ing time

I am so sorry for your recent news and struggles. I'm hating this disease with you. We are so lucky for this board for support and ideas. So vent, swear, yell, but then keep fighting. It's lonely. I think that's why we turn to this board. Keep pushing. You can do it.

Re: Chemo delayed

I was delayed a few times because of low neutrophil. I know what you mean about being scared. My inc didn't really say that it could affect outcome. I had a hard time mentally though. Getting psyched up for chemo and then being told you can't have it is so disappointing. Eat well, rest and enjoy you...

That was great. It sure made me smile. Hope it turned out well. I'm looking this song up in 2 months when it's time for mine again. I get butterflies just thinking about it.
