Re: Tas-102 and CEA

So I got my answer from Taiho, which was a non answer. I expected as much. Since they did not track CEA during the Recourse trial there is no data or indication that the drug would interact.I guess I'll have a colonoscopy and a brain MRI just so I can sleep at night and stop worrying about this.

Re: Tas-102 and CEA

I have full scans every three months and have for ten years. Pets are not indicated for me as I have inflammation from previous sbrt and my mets are smaller than a centimeter which is below pet resolution, so CT is a better tracker. Thanks Diane. I have seen those posts, but I appreciate the referen...

Re: Who are the longest stage 4 survivor's on here?

That would take a novel. I have pretty much done them all. (not Stivarga) I quit Vecibix after 9 rounds. Too toxic for me. I have had lots of surgery and radiation as well. The mets on the aorta were resolved with a surgery. I had my aorta resected by a vascular surgeon. No cancer surgeon would touc...

Re: Tas-102 and CEA

Thanks, no, this isn't a typical chemo rise. It's been going up steadily since last February, which for me, has always meant more activity. Why we are stumped. The scans are identical.

Tas-102 and CEA

I haven't posted here in years but I have a burning question and I wonder if anyone has any experience that might help shed some light on a very perplexing situation. I have been on Tas-102 since February. I have had 4 scans which all show complete stability. (my mets are in my lings) however my CEA...

I just hit the 10 year mark. Mets to the aortic lymph area and lungs. Doing well.

Re: TAS 102 trial diary

I have been on TAS 102 since February. I have two sets of scans so far and all is stable. I find it has improved my quality of life significantly as the side effects are much more tolerable. It does lower my white count and I have added an extra "week off" to my protocol. The nagging part ...

Hope from Europe?

I am wondering if anyone has heard of Dr Axel Rolle at Coswig Hospital in Germany or Mr. George Ladas, thoracic surgeon at Royal Brompton Hospital in London. They do a lung laser surgery for small mets not offered here in the US. Any information out there? I haven't posted for a few years, was NED f...

My blood lab has 0-3 as the normal range. I also see that range in much of the literature I have read on cea. Sue

post treatment scar tissue issues...things are looking up!!!

Hello, I just wanted to share an update with those folks who have been giving advice to me about my scar tissue concerns. The "other shoe" finally dropped last week and I did end up being rushed to the er with an obstruction. (I posted a little while back about recurring pain) I went through the usu...

Thanks Cats, I will also make sure to post if I find anything useful. My first sbo was a biggie. Totally twisted closed. I am really hoping I don't have a repeat (and I'll hope for you while I'm at it). Seems amazing that with all medical science can do they can't figure this one out. Thanks so much...

scar tissue adhesions/pain

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had experience with severe pain from scar tissue. Here is my history: I am a stage 3/4 survivor (my met was a lymph node that was inconclusive) I finshed folfox last May with 5 rounds of Avastin. So far all clean scans :D for which I am incredibly gratef...

My third scan is an all clear- a Happy Thanksgiving

Thanks for checking on me Holly, I am still here. Reading the posts regularly. I have been doing well but in the middle of that pre-scan hysteria for the past week. I got the results of my PET yesterday. All clear. Are there sweeter words in the English language? I know I am still a long way from a ...

Hi, I had already had surgery for my cc when the cat scan was done and my surgeon had already had a good look at my liver, so I was assured there were no mets there, however, I had cysts show up in my liver with my first scan. It also concerned me too at the time. They seemed absolutely sure about w...

I loved these. They are created for people with cancer. I especially liked the "affirmations"

Good luck I hope they help
