Re: Very Anxious- Unable to Enjoy Life due to Symptoms

I was 27 when I got diagnosed. If no one will take your symptoms seriously, keep going until someone will.

Re: Any survivor of 4th stage Metastasis Colorectal Cancer in Lungs of_My husband of age 28 years

I just got diagnosed with stage IV after a year of NED. I'm also 28. Definitely get a second opinion and get some books! I've been reading a lot about diet and nutrition and the right foods to eat to help my body. It isn't easy but I gotta try.

Re: Products must have list for Chemo

The utterly smooth hand creme is a must! I like to drop some lavender essential oil in with it.

I always get a metallic taste in my mouth on chemo weeks, so I like to suck on icebreaker sours or really any candy.

You could make her a playlist to listen to while at chemo.

Sending good thoughts!

Re: Why should I feel worse after this treatment

I did my fourth round of folfiri + Avastin this week and I feel awful. I got my pump out Wednesday along with some hydration and this morning I am back in the chair getting more hydration. I have zero energy and I'm so exhausted. I'm supposed to have two more treatments and then a pet scan to determ...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Congrats on getting your first chemo out of the way! My worst days are the day I get the pump out and the day after. I went yesterday to get disconnected and the lady next to me thought I was 16. I'm 28. I'm feeling pretty naseous this time around and really constipated. They told me to watch out fo...

Re: what should I expect on the first day of chemo?

Good luck! I also like to eat before getting there. Sometimes I eat snacks that I bring and sometimes I don't. If you are getting the oxaliplatin, bring room temperature water as the cold sensitivity kicked in right away for me. I usually bring a blanket, but many infusion centers have extras. Alway...

Re: Five years....and lung nodule

Hi dan, I'm right there with you. Though I'm only one year and one month out from my last chemo treatment, I'm going through the panic of a recurrence too. Two weeks ago, they found an enlarged lymph node wrapped around my renal artery. I even went as far as being prepped for the biopsy and in the r...

Re: Feeling scared about urgent pet scan

I saw my oncologist today. The enlarged lymph node is tucked away with my kidney and too close to my aorta for them to remove it. The biopsy is scheduled for Monday but she wants to do chemo either way. The stupid 5 fu pump again, along with avastin and irinotecan. Then possibly radiation. She menti...

Re: Mildy enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes

It's so hard waiting and not knowing. I think it's worse than just knowing what I'm up against and what the plan is. I'm getting a needle biopsy next week for an enlarged lymph node near my kidney. I'm worried they won't be able to biopsy and then I'll just be in limbo.

Re: Feeling scared about urgent pet scan

They saw the lymph node light up on the scan, so next step is needle biopsy. My oncologist said its next to my kidney and she isn't sure if they can get to it for the biopsy. She said she cannot think of what else would make the node enlarged besides cancer. Chemo is likely and she said "the pr...

Re: Feeling scared about urgent pet scan

That really sucks. It's like you think you're all good feeling healthy and then all the tests have to be done at once for something that doesn't seem that crazy.
It's good to hear your scans are clear, Hopefully your Cea will drop.

Re: Feeling scared about urgent pet scan

Thanks all.

It's frustrating to always have the worry of recurrence in the back of my mind, even when tests or blood work comes out ok.

Two more hours until the scan - and then, I can eat!

Feeling scared about urgent pet scan

This is my first post. I just don't know who else to say these things too. I was diagnosed with stage IIIc colon cancer in September 2015 at the age of 27. They removed a tumor that was blocking my lower sigmoid colon, along with part of my colon. They also removed several lymph nodes. Then I starte...
