Re: All Lung Nodule Experiences

I have a few small new nodules on the last CT scan.
According to their interpretation they are of inflammation nature.
They recommended a follow up scan in 4 month.

Is this typical in a similar case to get referred to a pulmonologist?
I have not received such referral so far.

Re: Will I ever be able to eat the foods I love again? Post-Colectomy problems

Please Google Internet or search this forum for BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast). My definition of the BRAT diet: - bananas, peeled and cored apples - rice, buckwheat - potatoes, yams - white bread - fish, chicken, turkey It makes sense to start with BRAT diet and them gradually intr...

Re: Post surgery expected bowel movements

Cecum is not doing anything.
Ileocecal valve is much more important.
Without this valve your digestive system need to relearn how to digest food.
It may take anywhere between few weeks and several years. :(

BTW, what kind of surgery do you expect?

Re: Recovery: hemicolectomy vs ESD

I just heard about ESD, however I assume that it should be similar to other types of endoscopic surgery. In this case you may expect: - one lost day in case of endoscopic surgery - one lost week in case of laparoscopic hemicolectomy (I was back to office in five weeks because of some complications) ...

Re: Keto diet?

My son (he is a resident doctor right now) conducted a research on my behalf of available information in mainstream medical magazines. His conclusion: "Diet impact after a diagnosis is very minimal. You can eat whatever you want without worrying about a recurrence." Personally I trust only...

Re: Very worried - would like advice

Ten years of on and off bleeding doesn't look like cancer to me.
There are other options like diverticulitis, Crohn, colitis etc.
You need to wait for results of the colonoscopy.
There is no way around these waiting times.

Re: New here- full colectomy recommended by surgeon- any advice?

What are dimensions of all your polyps? I had three polyps with large one in caecum (similar to what you have). All of them were removed during colonoscopy. Afterwards right hemicolectomy was performed for "prophylactic purposes". I would recommend to get a 2nd opinion - find and talk to a...

Re: Right-side vs. left side

If you have a tumor on the right side (near the appendix) then you might want to read up on the right-sided vs. left -sided tumor issue. There are several members here who have looked into this issue. . https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/to-your-health/wp/2016/05/18/whether-colon-cancer-is-on-the-...

Please keep track of your temperature and pain.
You may want to see a doctor again if they fluctuate or go up.
These may be signs of active infection.

Re: Just found out I have cancer

I am scared, and frightened of the future. I know I am supposed to be positive, but dont know how. Please do not feel obligated to feel positive. According to the latest science, it's OK to be said. Your original intensity of emotions would subside soon. How do I deal with telling people at work, e...
