Re: Gas/Constipation

I haven’t but funny you should mention that, my mom was just treated for that a month ago. If it persists, I will talk to my PCP. Thanks

Gas/Constipation

Hi. Two years post sigmoid colectomy. T1/N0/M0 so caught really early, very lucky, and no additional treatment other than blood tests and follow up colonoscopy. Lately I've had gas.........alot of it and it smells as if I have a sewer plant in my gut. Very "airy" BM's as well. Anyone tried...

Re: How long in hospital after surgery?

I was in the hospital for a week. The surgery itself went perfectly. My issue was that my kidneys decided they were going to take a nap for three days. No particular reason why. Docs couldn't figure it out. Had some ultrasounds of my kidneys, nothing. After a nap, they decided they'd join the party ...

Re: Gas/Constipation

No I'm not exercising. But I will definitely try to start up once this cold weather breaks. I've heard that and water really help with these issues that I've seemed to inherit in the past year. :) Yes, it is my prayer as well. Your followup colonoscopy is in June? So your surgery was in June of last...

Gas/Constipation

Hi all. I am on year post sigmoid resection for T1 colon cancer. Lately I've had some gas like pains and constipation. The diagnosis indicated that no lymph nodes were affected thus no other organs were affected. Needless to say I'm a little nervous, my followup colonoscopy is in about two weeks. An...

Constipation.....

Hi folks. I'm on antibiotics for a sinus infection and now I have A good case of constipation. With my recent colon cancer diagnosis, I'm unsure if what to take to help things along. Any suggestions? Either over the counter, natural or food related. Thanks so much.

Re: New Member

I had no signs, no symptoms, no family history so I thought no problem when I schedule my baseline/50 year old colonoscopy. Found a large mass at the recto-sigmoid area of my colon that ended up with surgery to remove/reconnect 13" of my colon. I had nothing to really ignore but I was proactive...

A colonoscopy requires a "prep" the day before.

Re: Food going through husband like WATER!!

Hi ronswife. I believe we know one another outside of this forum. Know that I am thinking of you both. I had my own colon cancer scare in early March. Mine was caught much earlier but still scary nontheless. Feel free to reach out to me through here or my contact information. Much love.

Re: Gas!!!

thanks for the feedback folks. I can't see myself basically eating nothing in order to avoid the gas. Lucky for me, I had no chemo and no need for a stoma, etc. I can try the Gas-X though!!

Gas!!!

Hi everyone. I'm 3 months post resection. The gas is causing me to slowly lose friends and my dog stays away from me too. Kidding there. Anyone else have this issue at this point?

Re: Awaiting Colonospy Date Scared

Google is NOT your friend. It wasn't my fiend, although I couldn't stay off of it for some odd reason. I've learned to take it one step at a time. Try to focus on something else during the interim. Keep us posted

Re: Survey on bad habits

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to who gets this cancer, why, their diet, etc. Take me for instance....never smoked, only drink socially, my job keeps me up and moving around, gym membership (not sure how often I use it!!), rarely eat red meat (do like my processed meats for sandwiches), ...
