Re: Little rant and update

My thoughts and prayers are with you. My primary is unresectable too. And I have an 8 year old. I am so scared of what is to come. Everything about this cancer journey sucks. I hear you!

Y90/SIRT, where they inject microbeads of radioactivity directly into the liver to directly target the tumours is also widely used here in the UK.

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

Hello. Yes, our relationship was very good prior to illness; now the affair is out in the open and ended the relationship is getting better again though we have a lot to work on still. We have worked out strategies ref. sex. We actually can talk about things well but I prefer letters/writing things ...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

JMO, that happy, sad, joy, sorrow are a normal spectrum of the human experience on this planet & though no one wants their loved ones to experience the negative, especially our children, there is no ying w/o the yang. It is all part of personal growth together in the relationship between the re...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

canadiandaughter I absolutely agree. This is why I have insisted my husband cut all non-essential contact with his co-worker off. Till death do us part is an important part of the morality of our marriage; moreover, all the shit that goes along with terminal cancer is also part of life. My husband ...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

Sophy , earlier this year I tried to imagine if I could simply let this whole thing go and give his friendship my blessing as I knew I was on the way out. But it was too hard for me. I have grown up with the strong belief in monogamy and having my husband see another woman while I am still alive ja...

Re: Survey on bad habits

I'm a mixed bag: I've been overweight and eaten a lot of junk food and smoked, but then for the greater part of my life I've been slim, superfit, ate very healthily including juicing. Now I'm diagnosed I exercise when I have the ability to (dependent on energy and pain levels) and eat depending on a...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

Thank you all for your insightful comments. I may not have agreed with the tone and/or opinions of all of them but each and every one has helped me think a little bit clearer. I sent my husband the letter and we had a long chat. He understood why and agreed that he had to cut all contact with his co...

Re: How to cope with an "affair" when terminally ill (sorry, it's long)

Dear thread readers, Thank you once again for your diverse yet insightful comments above. I am still reflecting on them all. Please could you let me know your opinions on this letter I am thinking of sending my husband? The part about stopping treatment may be too harsh (though it's been through my ...

Re: Glimmer of Hope?

My understanding (which isn't much) is to make sure your tumour has been tested for microstability status: msi (instable) or mss (stable). There is a current immuno trial running for msi patients and may be one forthcoming (but not yet recruiting) for mss patients. Your onc should be able to tell yo...

Re: Lonsurf

I'll be starting Lonsurf soon, just waiting for the tablets to arrive at the pharmacy. My oncologist said none of his patients on it have suffered any side effects, but on a Facebook group I'm on most on it suffer fatigue.
