Re: T3N0M0 Rectal Cancer- refuse surgery?

Hello! Get a second opinion. Two surgeons told me I would need a permanent bag because of location of my own tumor. I had colorectal cancer. I went to Sloan Kettering, where Dr. Garcia Aguilar spoke to me at length--something neither of the other two surgeons did--told me all the pros and cons, and ...

Re: Polyp return... depressed.

It's not unusual at all....particularly after pelvic radiation ..which according to your signature is what you had. In addition, IF your vitamin d level is low, that is another predisposing factor to finding more polyps. There is strong evidence to suggest the growth of polyps and low vitamin d lev...

Re: Newly diagnosed

Hey, CaymanGirl! I put off mine for ten years... the rest is history. Don't you dare berate yourself! No one deserves to get ill because they put off, or get careless, or are in denial. The important thing is, there is help and a remedy! Believe it! You'll find this board to be a great help. Rocket

Re: My Oncoblot test--thoughts??

Thanks for your replies!

You know what? I'm putting this way back in my mind, considering myself cured, and am following all the advise my excellent oncologist and his assistant give me with regard to survivorship. All of it.

Peace and love...

My Oncoblot test--thoughts??

So I'd like to talk about oncoblot tests. First, what it is: It is a blood serum test that identifies cancer by detecting ENOX2 proteins which are shed into the blood system by cancer cells. I was diagnosed with colon rectal cancer April 15, 2015. Since then, I have done chemo, radiation, had an ile...

Re: Four days out from reversal

Hi Rocket, Congratulations on the reversal. The best tip I can give you is eat bland food. Try to stay away from things that are hard to digest like lettuce and fruit peels. Imodium will help with spasms, also a hot bath will relax mussel and stop the burning butt. LIke BrownBagger said. Measure you...

Good luck!

Will do--thank you so much!

Re: Four days out from reversal

I'm about a month ahead of you. First 2 weeks were really rough, but then it has gotten slowly better. Urgency and clustering are still there, but now I have about a 20 second window to get to the toilet vs. just pooping in my pants. A month out, I'd say 5 out of 7 days are fine, but the other 2 da...

Four days out from reversal

Hey, all.

Any good stories about ileostomy reversals out there ? Could use a little encouragement. Though I'm so grateful to be returned to health ... I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself right now. I hate being a wimp.

Gastrografin enema today--still leaking! :(

Well, had it today at 9AM. The good news is I'm good to go for 7/12 reversal. And the procedure is nothing. But why didn't they mention that I'd be leaking brown fluid for hours? For God's sake! I had to cancel dinner tonight because I can't venture out. Is there an end to it? :|
